How to Style: Modern Industrial
We're back with yet another style HOW TO!
This week: Modern Industrial
One of the most popular home styles, industrial style is a great way to create a cozy retreat that's also unique. You'll find inspiration in everything from exposed beams to rustic furniture and even unfinished walls. We've got some tips for achieving this amazing look at home!
1. Unfinished walls
Unfinished walls are a great way to add texture and interest to a room. They can be painted or left bare, and you can use them for art or as a feature wall.
You could also use unfinished walls as an accent wall in your living room if you don’t want to take up too much space there.
2. Pared-back furniture
Minimalist design.

Functional, durable and comfortable furniture that is also simple and clean in design.
3. Recycled materials
Recycled materials are a great way to add character and style to your home. Recycled materials can be used in a variety of ways, including:
Creating a unique look that fits with the rest of your décor. For example, you can use recycled wood paneling on a wall or flooring as part of an industrial-inspired space.
Creating a modern industrial style by incorporating other elements like metal pieces or glass shelves.
4. Exposed beams
Beams are a great way to add character and drama to any room. They can be used as a feature wall, supporting beams or other elements in the room. You can also paint them or leave them natural, depending on your style preference. If you have an exposed beam in your house (or apartment), here's how you can make it work for you:
Paint the wood or place a patterned wallpaper over it; this will help tie everything together by giving off color throughout your space
5. Exterior influence
Use concrete. Concrete is a versatile material, and it's especially popular in industrial design because of its durability and ability to withstand heavy use. In addition to being used as flooring or countertops, you can also use it for walls or ceilings—and even for furniture!
Use wood. Wood has been used for centuries as an exterior material because it doesn't rot easily (which means you'll have more options when it comes time to repaint). As a result, many homeowners choose this type of finish when they're building their home; however there are other options like metal siding that offer similar benefits at lower cost over time compared with traditional wood products like doors/windows etc...
6. It's not as hard as you think!
When creating a look that's industrial and modern, you'll want to choose a few key pieces. These will be your building blocks for styling the rest of your space. Pick up a few pieces from the thrift store or online that are simple, clean lines with a little bit of color—and then let them shine!
You can also make use of recycled materials such as wood pallets or old milk crates to create unique pieces in your home that work well with other elements like paint on an accent wall or plants in an entryway area (or anywhere else).
