Now we might be biased, but hiring an expert real estate agent is one of the MOST important pieces to this journey! A great agent will be able to negotiate and fight for you on your behalf. They will be able to handle the stressful stuff so you can enjoy the fun stuff! We recommend interviewing more than one agent before making your decision!

Monitor & Strengthen your Credit

As stated in our last blog post, your credit score will play a large part in your process to owning a home. While there are lenders for all types of credit profiles, the better your overall credit profile is, the better approval odds you have! 

Save Accordingly

While your Realtor® may be able to negotiate your closing costs, there are still other expenses you'll need to prepare for, such as: Moving Expenses, Closing Costs, Down Payment, etc.

Compare Loan Types & Programs

There are many different mortagage options available to choose from. Comparing them and their associating fees will help in choosing what's best for your individual situation. We recommend speaking with a lender for a professional opinion!

Get a Preapproval Letter

A preapproval letter is a letter that your lender provides to you to show you can afford the home you are looking for. A preapproval letter gives you an advantage when negotiating offers on potential homes. It shows you are a serious buyer! 

Attend Open Houses

Home buying isn't always love at first sight. It's okay to be picky! Some people aren't shopping for their forever home but some are, so it's important to tour different homes and create a list of your wants & needs!
